ABOUT Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU), Armenia

Yerevan State Medical University is one of the leading & prestigious government medical University in Eastern Europe. It was founded in 1920 as a faculty and established as an independent Institution in 1930. In1980 it received highest award for training highly qualified specialists and for its great contribution in the field of public health. Earlier it was called as the Yerevan State Medical Institute but in 1995 the Institute was reformed into the University and renamed as Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi – the Great Master of Medicine played the same role for us as Hippocrates for Greeks, Galen for Romans, and Ibn Sina for Arabs.

There are 5 different faculties- Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Stomatology (Dentistry), Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Military Medicine & Faculty of Public Health. The university education systemworks with the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System).

Academic Calendar

1. There is only one major intake. All the admission process starts from April month onward for September intake. 

Admission requirements for Indian & overseas students

Students have to adhere to the eligibility criteria to get admission to the MBBS/MD course. Details are as follows;

1. Educational qualification- Aspirants must have scored 70% and above marks in their higher secondary exam from a recognized board.
2. HSC pass percentage - Required 70% in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry & Biology and English as a compulsory subject.
3. Having good command over English language.
4. Candidates should be above 17 years of age on, or before 31^st December during the year of their admission process.
5. Birth certificate.
6. Migration certificate from school.
7. All educational & birth certificate to be duly apostle.
8. The aspirants will have to appear for an online entrance exam or some time test will be conducted in the university.
9. Once student qualify the entrance test, then they are eligible for direct admission to pursue MBBS/MD program, else; they will get an opportunity to enrol in one-year preparatory course to pursue MBBS/MD program.
10. NEET qualification- Indian Students must have qualified the NEET exam with an eligible score of fifty percentile. The medical aspirants of the other countries have to check the examination norms and rules of their respective countries.
11. Having a valid passport.
12. Ten identical white background passport size photos (50 mm x 50 mm).
13. Download the admission form from the website.
14. Forward duly filled & signed admission form to the consultancy. 

Documents required for student visa to study in Armenia

Following set of original documents are required to apply for student visa:

1. Valid travel passport with minimum validity of one year.
2. Admission & invitation letter from the university.
3. Payment receipt of Initial University tuition fee.
4. Birth certificate.
5. School certificates 10+2.
6. All school certificates, birth certificate & 4 set of passports copy to be duly apostle/notary attested. 
7. Medical insurance.
8. Medical fitness certificate by the doctor.
9. Medical report- Required medical test report of HIV & tuberculosis.
10. Sponsor bank statement with minimum balance of USD 7000 or Rupees 6 lakhs.
11. Ten identical white background passport size photos (50 mm x 50 mm).
12. The embassy will issue visa for 90 days. After completing the admission process, our consultancy will guide the students in obtaining a temporary residence permit. This permit is valid for six years and to be renewed on yearly basis.
13. An HIV / AIDS and some infectious disease test will be done by an Armenian clinic, which is required for the residence permit. 

Visa processing time

1. The processing time of study visa of Armenia takes 25 working days after submitting the visa application file to the embassy. 

Admission Process

Following are the steps of admission process:

1. For the admission & invitation letter from the university student must send all the scanned documents as required for admission, via email to Sunrise Star Overseas Education Consultancy (info@sunrisestaroec.com)
2. Once we will receive the documents, our consultant will review all the documents. 
3. After that, the consultancy will forward all the documents to the university.
4. University will review all the education credentials and other documents. Once student will be shortlisted by the university, then university will conduct either online entrance test.
5. Once student qualify the entrance test, then they are eligible for direct admission to MBBS/MD program, else; they will get an opportunity to enrol in a one year of preparatory course to pursue the MBBS/MD program.
6. Students will receive an admission confirmation letter within 7-10 working days.
7. After the confirmation of admission, university will courier original admission & invitation letter along with visa support letter to Sunrise Star Overseas Education Consultancy. 
8. Payment of initial university tuition fees needs to be transfer, once the candidate is accepted. 
9. Payment receipt to be attached with visa application letter to receive the student visa.
10. With the set of documents, our consultant will assist student for visa application to the respective embassy of the country.
11. After visa approval, Sunrise Star Overseas Education Consultancy will inform to the parents and student about the complete travel plan.
12. All students must follow the international travel protocol.
13. Finally, the admission process will start, once the student reaches the university
